A Keepsake of Gratitude

DEOPUZ Exclusive VIP Ice Cream Spoon

The Story Behind the Making

How much meaning can a spoon really hold?

For Deopuz, it is more than a piece of tableware.

It is a blessing, a gesture of gratitude, and a small reminder of the journey we have shared.

As Deopuz entered a new chapter, we created something especially for the people who have been with us along the way: the Gin No Saji “銀の匙” Exclusive Ice Cream Spoon.

It is not a product available for purchase.

It is a keepsake reserved for our VIP members — a small object made to remember a much bigger journey.

More Than a Spoon

In Japanese culture, the idea of a “silver spoon” is often associated with abundance, comfort and a life blessed with plenty.

At its heart is a simple wish: to live well, to have enough, and to move forward with happiness.

That was the spirit behind this project.

Rather than creating another conventional VIP gift, we wanted to make something that could naturally become part of everyday life.

Something that would not simply sit inside a display cabinet.

Something you might reach for while having ice cream, dessert or coffee one evening — and remember DEOPUZ.

Remember this chapter.

Remember the people and moments that helped us get here.

Gin No Saji 銀の匙 ice cream spoon design concept

Six Months in the Making

From the initial concept to the finished piece, the Gin No Saji took more than six months to develop.

For an ice cream spoon, that may sound excessive.

But we knew from the beginning that we were not making an ordinary piece of tableware.

We spent time considering the proportions, shape, weight, grip and overall comfort of the spoon.

Then came the prototypes.

Then the revisions.

Then more prototypes.

A design on paper is one thing.

Turning it into something that actually feels right in your hand is another.

Some changes were only a matter of millimetres, yet those small differences could completely change the way the spoon looked or felt.

We wanted it to look considered.

But more importantly, we wanted it to work.

12+ Moulds. 20+ Processes.

The final Gin No Saji is made from food-grade stainless steel, going through more than 12 sets of moulds and over 20 production processes.

From design and prototyping to forming, finishing, detailing and packaging, each stage involved repeated checking and refinement.

Some of the most important decisions were also the least visible.

The proportions of the spoon.

The curve of the edges.

The way the handle sits in the hand.

The surface finish.

Even the way the spoon is presented when the packaging is opened.

Individually, they may seem like small details.

Together, they define the finished piece.

From an Idea to Something You Can Hold

There is always a moment during the making process when a design stops being an idea.

It becomes an object.

The Gin No Saji went through that same transformation.

Months of prototypes, adjustments and refinements eventually turned an idea into a spoon that could actually be used.

We never wanted to simply put the Deopuz identity onto a piece of tableware.

We wanted something that could exist naturally in everyday life — on a dining table, next to a dessert, inside someone's home — while still carrying the character of Deopuz.

Finding that balance took time.

And sometimes, it meant going back and starting again.

Why an Ice Cream Spoon?

There was a reason we chose an ice cream spoon.

We did not want this to be a gift that only appeared on a special occasion.

We wanted it to become part of ordinary moments.

A bowl of ice cream.

A dessert after dinner.

A quiet evening at home.

Something simple.

Something familiar.

And perhaps, after using it for a while, you might suddenly realise that this small object has quietly become part of your everyday life.

For us, that kind of companionship means more than a gift that simply looks impressive when first opened.

A Gift Reserved for the People Who Stayed

The Gin No Saji is not for sale.

The exclusivity is not simply about making the gift rare.

It is about expressing gratitude.

DEOPUZ began in Fortress Hill in 2021 and has since grown into our Causeway Bay flagship store on Pak Sha Road.

That journey could never have happened through the efforts of a brand alone.

We remember the customers who kept coming back.

The people who discovered silver jewellery with us for the first time.

And the VIP members who have continued to support Deopuz throughout the years.

So this is more than a VIP gift.

It is a small marker of a relationship built over time.
