One of the Mikiko in Japanese mythology. He was the younger brother of Amaterasu and the older brother of Susano, and ruled the land of night as the god of the moon. He is often depicted as a man, but there are also theories that he is a woman. The name Tsukuyomi means reading the phases of the moon, and he is considered the god of agriculture and fortune-telling, which is closely related to the calendar. He has also been worshiped as a sea god because the moon's gravitational pull is related to the tides.

It depicts an elegant figure holding a crystal with the moon behind her. The crystal is amethyst, also called amethyst.
