Babirusa為馬來語，其意為「豬鹿」。，最出名的就是那雙巨大的獠牙。鹿豚的下犬齒很長，會長到與鼻子重疊，但真正令人驚豔的是上犬齒。上犬齒一開始往下生長，但後來會往上長入鼻子頂部，穿透皮膚，向後往額頭生長。這是babirusa 的骷髏吊墜版本,從作品可看出babirusa 被自己的獠牙插穿額頭而死亡,繼而化為白骨。
