Charon, the ferryman of the River Styx in the underworld. He transports the dead across to the other side in his small boat. A payment of one obolus was required to cross the River Styx, and those who did not have it had to wait 200 years.
The body of Charon is constructed with a hook and swivel mechanism, and embedded on the back is a piece of a copper obolus coin. The obolus coin features the engraved face of the goddess Athena, in the style of ancient Greek coinage.
